Producers include: The LG Experience, Lorider, Reggie Noble, Sean "Puffy" Combs, Marley Marl. The first installment of this two-volume soundtrack is a promising collection for hip-hop fans from both the east and west coasts. NEW JERSEY DRIVE, VOLUME 1 deftly mixes the hottest emerging talents in rap, reggae and R&B, with new and old material from established, acclaimed artists, which means that there's something in it for everybody. The Garden State's own hip-hop hall-of-famers--Redman, Lords Of The Underground and Queen Latifah--lead the pack, proudly representing the 201. Appearances by Outkast ("Benz Or Beamer") and MC Eiht ("Ain't Nuttin' But Killin'") give the collection props with the rap underground; and is there anyone who can't get down with Maze & Frankie Beverly's classic "Before I Let Go"? Adding a little reggae flavor to the mix is newcomer Black Panta's pop dancehall groove, "Do What U Want." Sabelle's "Old Thing" slows down and mellows out the pace to a tune that is reminiscent of Guy's "Piece Of My Love," while Sean "Puffy" Combs' hot new group, Total, use a sample from James Brown's "The Payback" and a guest spot by the Notorious B.I.G. to deliver the collection's phattest track, "Can't You See."
